apple photos problem with A7II

Using my A7II with Apple's Yosemite OS "photos" I was able to edit RAW photos, but with the new High Sierra (10.13.6 with upgraded memory to 16gb) I cannot edit them.  There is a long lag time with jittery results. Yet it works with jpeg.  These cameras are listed as compatible with photos RAW editing.

This has been going on for a year but Apple tech service just tells me "they are looking into this..." A YEAR!  with no fix yet.

Has anybody had this trouble using RAW photos?

It works for me with images from my a9. Image quality is not as good as with CaptureOne though

Capture One offer a _free_ version for Sony owners. Download it and try see if it works with your RAW files.

I am using Darktable on MacAir. Its' latest OS . It works OK. But that is my spare and travel machine. Main edit is on Linux/Darktable/Gimp
