Minolta lenses on Sony mirrorless bodies.

I'm sure this has been asked many times before but I'm seeking clarification on the matter. What minolta lenses can I use on my Sony A58? Will the 70-210mm beercan lens work?

All Minolta AF lenses will work wether they are branded Maxxum AF or simply AF.

 

Yes the 70-210 F4 beercan will work

The Minolta 100/2.8 macro works fine on A-mount cameras. It's the same lens as the Sony 100/2.8, they just changed the logo. It's a beautiful lens, by the way.

The adapter mentioned is for use on a mirrorless camera like Sony A7

Thank you so much for your replies you've been a great help, yes the lens comes across as a cracking piece of kit and I thought Sony had simply put their own name on it.
