I have done a small comparison between Sony-Zeiss 35mm 2.8 and the new Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 at 35mm.

And as far as I can see the Tamrom is sharper. Has anyone else tested that out?

I would be interested in this comparison. Any chance you could share some samples with us?

According to Jannik Peters, the Tamron 28-75 does not perform very well at 35/2.8. Corners are pretty soft even at F11.

Sorry I am not a lens tester like Jannik Peters. I was aking for a test like this between the Tamron on 35 mm and the Soy-Zeiss 35mm 2.8.

In your original post you state you had done "a small comparison" ?  Why not post your pictures you took to make your conclusion that the Tamron was sharper?

Quite often, certain lenses produce more sharp 

pictures than other lenses, even tho lab tests 

show that the "other" lenses are optically better. 

   

Certain lenses are more productive, in terms of 

sharper results, due to other factors, such as 

faster and more accurate AF, better OIS, or just 

being more user friendly. Even wider maximum 

maximum apertures can help: When shooting 

at about f/4, better to focus at f/2, cuz focus is 

far more critical at wider stops ... unless you're 

still shooting with a rangefinder :-)
