A7III: multiple releases when squeezing shutter button

Hi, I just received my A7III and I notice that when I squeeze the shutter button to avoid hand shake, the shutter sometimes releases two or more times in spite of the fact that the drive mode is set to Single Shooting. Any idea why this happens? Is this normal or did I get a bad copy?

A careful squeeze causes the 

release to switch to hover at 

the point where it triggers.

Ok, thank you. It's different from other cameras I have used (Nikon, Fuji), I guess I just have to get used to it. I found a discussion from some time ago about the same "problem", which might be of interest:

this also happens with my camera, seems to be "normal" for Sony. I find it strange that they don't manage to solve this, I mean no other camera from other manufacturers that I've used showed such a behaviour
