transfer RAW + JPG on iPad pro

Recommended Posts

Hello

Sony A7R III

I shoot in RAW (card 1) + JPG (card 2) do you know how I can transfer my photos to iPad Pro?
I need :
1) To transfer very fast (wireless) jpg during a shooting to be able to control or show to customers immediately
2) When travelling to transfer the RAW to process them with affinity photo for Ipad (I do not want Lightroom)

PS: The WIFI with PlayMemories is terrible to use (scan the code every time) and I can not find how to transfer RAW

thanks for helping

A while ago I did some tests with my a9 with respect to achievable network speed. To make it short: with stock equipment, wirelessly you will probably not get above a sustained data transfer rate of ~3.5MB/s.

Playmemories is unacceptable in my view for its software license.

So I opted for a product named Camfi Pro, which is a crowd funded development extension of the already available Camfi product. I'm one of their sponsors, but haven't received mine yet. I'll keep you posted once I have it. 8-)

I cannot answer your question. *sad face* But i understand that the iPad Pro supports RAW? Because that is my question. ‍♂

Is RAW also process able on a iPad or is it just for reviewing?

Im keeping tabs on this topic.

You got me excited about Affinity for the iPad, didn‘t even know about it.

Fore transfer I‘ll try my WD Passport Wireless, which is my backup device in the field and can connect to the iPad.

Will keep you posted!

I’m trying to keep my mind away from iPads because of my MacBook Pro retina gen 1 [emoji23] I think it’s gonna be obsolete when I buy an iPad Pro [emoji23] but the more I read about affinity photo for the iPad with the pencil, the more I wanna buy it [emoji23] just wondering if I can edit Raws or does the iPad convert the raw to jpeg in order to edit it on the iPad

The enthusiastic reactions makes me believe it’s the real deal [emoji1360]

no it is not  a jpg conversion, you get a real raw converter and the working process with a pencil is amazing
and if you like to draw Procreate for iPad is a killer app ! :-)

if you have to process many files like for an event or wedding it is not the best tool
