May Need to Return a6300

Recommended Posts

Most unfortunately I may need to return my Sony a6300 that I recently acquired. I notice a distinct tilt of my images when using the EVP (also when I upload them) but images are straight/level when I view them on the LCD screen. I'm a committed EVP lover so this is highly disappointing to me. I actually purchased another a6300 and had to return it to Sony for this issue and this camera (another a6300) was a replacement. Has anyone experienced this issue? So disappointed. Thanks much.

I'm not entirely convinced. I deal with people who are relatively new to photography and one thing they have in common is that most of them tilt the camera slightly. They won't notice it while taking pictures, but they'll notice it when they wiev the photo on a larger screen. This goes with both EVF and OVF. If you make them aware of the fact that they're tilting the camera they can learn to adjust for it.

Depending on your shootong angle and composition, a viewfinder image may actually look more balanced to the brain if you tilt the camera slightly. It's only when you view a larger version that you'll notice that the horisontal or vertical lines aren't true.

That's the reason I asked about the level. If you use a level, either the electronic one or a spirit level to make sure your camera is absolutely level, then you'll know if it is a hand-to-eye coordination issue or some misalignment in the camera.

When you take an image, then look at that produced image on BOTH the LCD screen and then the viewfinder are they aligned the same or tilted in one and not the other?
