a6300, could I change the shutter button?

Hi there,

 

I've just bought the a6300,I've been testing the functions of the custom buttons C1, C2, AEL...

 

But I wanted to know if it would be possible to change the front shutter button. So you can take a photo using another button... It seems impossible, I haven't found anything about this, but if someone knows how to do it, or someone knows that it's impossible 100%.

If it's not in the manual, or in a decent book like Gary Friedman's, then I'd assume not. I certainly haven't seen anything like that on my a6300.

 

Don't forget the shutter button has two stages...

Shutter button is dedicated to activating exposure.  You can, of course, program it to not initiate focus (back button focus).  Only other solution would be to fire the camera using a remote.

You cannot relocate the shutter release.

 

If you can tolerate a grip, you get an extra 

shutter button in an additional location, but 

you still have the old one as well. And you 

get no choice about the location of the one 

on the grip.
