External Monitor Issue with A6500

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I bought a Bestview S7 7" 4K for my A6500. However, I just can't seem to get it working.

I've attached the Monitor to external power source and turned it on. I've also attached the HDMI cable that was supplied with between monitor (plugged into HDMI IN) and the side panel. However, I still get the sign saying "No Signal"

Unsure what is going on? Is the monitor not working or the HDMI cable is bad? I bought a 2nd HDMI cable and it too results in the same issue. Here is the set-up https://imgur.com/a/UPv8E

Is there some setting I have wrong on the A6500. It was all originally set on default. HDMI Resolution "Auto" and the Monitor has it set to HDMI input too.

I just looked at the settings menu #7 and see no on/off settings for the HDMI output. You might try the HDMI resolution (auto or other settings) or the 24p/60p output setting.

My a6500 works fine with a Viltrox DC-50, (5" screen), and it has a lot of good features for the price. Resolution, not so much, but even if it was finer, I'd have to use a magnifying glass to see if it was really in focus. It is really only good for showing your talent the shot you got afterwards, as you can't use the touch screen while shooting for focus.

Try hooking the camera up to your HDMI computer or TV monitor. There's probably nothing wrong with it.

And if you shoot video or stills in the studio close up, I recommend another Viltrox product, an LED light that is so cheap you can't pass it up as it produces a beautiful, pure white light (or variable to tungsten if you desire) and the whole unit only costs $30 (battery not included).
