poor lens cap on new Zeiss emount 16-70 lens

I keep my new Zeiss 16-70 lens on the camera almost all of the time. The only problem I have is that with the Sony lens cap securely in place, the front of the lens is always getting full of dust. Does anyone make a 55mm cap that protects the lens better. The dust can generally be removed with a blower or lens cloth.

Just buy a new Brand-X center-pinch cap, 

from B&H, Adorama, BestBuy etc. Under 

$10 and best caps around. Identical to all 

the really good OEM caps but without the 

expensive brand's logo name. 

    

Also, vacuum clean your bag ! Lenses in 

my bags don't get dusty even with no cap.   

   

And there's some users ought to ask their 

therapists if they are chasing meaningless 

tiny dust accumulations due to unfortunate

childhood imprinting .... just sayin` ;-)

You probably already did this, but putting a clear daylight filter on the lens makes it easier to wipe/blow off dust since it's a flat surface. Also you're not touching the lens so no risk of scratches.
