How do I fix/replace this on my A9?

Recommended Posts

The rail on which the eye piece slides onto broke the first time I took it off. Kind of a bummer. It's ugly and also no longer fits as secure obviously...

Any help from you lovely folks? I don't really know where to start. Thank you

Seems like such an awfully small thing to send it all in for. I was wondering if that piece can be removed and replaced...

You might want to call Sony Service Center. Maybe order another piece and quick instructions from them won't hurt.

I believe you need to push both sides before you pull it up.

I presume the mechanical design is similar to A7Rii, in which case yes, it *can* be removed. If you remove the back of the camera and the viewfinder assembly (which includes its LCD and flex cable, so be sure to disconnect it, which may mean removing a heat shield), the part in question (lens assembly) is held in place by two friction clips.

So, if you can source the part and don’t mind turning screws, disconnecting fragile printed cables, etc, you can do it yourself.
