Sony a68 cant find 1/160th flash sunc speed?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Im hoping one person can point me in the right direction.

Ive got a Sony a68, and in the manual and Sony specs they both say the external flash sync speed is 1/160th.

But on the shutter speed menu its jumps from 1/125th to 1/200th .

No 1/160th?

I mean i think 1/160th is slow compared to most cameras these days, but having to drop to 1/125th is mad, but does work, Ive tried bumping it up to 1/200th but catchs shutter in motion.

Any ideas please, im using in full manual mode, if i select shutter priority its not listed either?

Now ive also got the Sony a58 and that is 1/160th and that is listed in the shutter speed menu.

Any thoughts?

Thank you in Advance

Regards Howard

You are probably set-up for 1/2 EV exposure compensation when 1/160 sec is 1/3 EV stop over 1/125sec

Check the on-line guide, it says in section no 97:

Exposure step

You can set the setting range for the shutter speed, aperture, and exposure compensation values.

1. MENU → (Camera Settings) → [Exposure step] → desired setting.

Menu item details
0.3EV (default setting)/0.5EV
