nickmaggi
Camera worked in the airport, and then when I arrived it stopped. Whenever I turn it on the image preview briefly flickers, followed by a blueish screen, followed by black. The cycle repeats until I take the battery out, turning it off doesn't even work. There's no camera shops on the island, anyone know how to fix it?
Advertisement Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Hi nickmaggi, Take a look here A6300 won't work, when I turn it on the screen just flickers.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
markfireblade
Is it new? Where did you buy it? Is the battery charged? When I got my a6300 the battery had pretty much no charge...
Username
Even on its very last gasp, a simple low-battery situation will still ignite the "battery exhausted" message. If you restart it, you get that message again. If you have any activity at all ... such as described in the OP ... it's therefor not a simple case of run down battery. Username
With no battery loaded, and camera turned OFF, slowly press EVERY button TWICE [or more] to really drain the short term memory. Then load in a well charged battery and pray for success ! If no luck, try the same button pushing routine but with the camera turned ON [but no battery]. This is not a Sony secret. It's a generic fix that works on many cameras, obviously depending on what's actually wrong in each instance. Thaz why the two versions [turned off and turned on]. Best of luck with yours. PS. Try a freshly formatted SD card. Maybe the preview is trying to address a corrupted SD card and thaz driving the camera nutz ? If you don't have a spare card, try NO card. You can't format a card in a camera that doesn't boot up properly, but the camera WILL recognize a card formatted in a PC, even tho thaz not what the camera "prefers". If you have only one card, you could offload its content to storage, and then reformat the card in the PC.
