How low will it go? (a6000)

Recommended Posts

I've been watching a6000 prices. For a 2 lens bundle (16-50 and 55-210) it has gone from $1050 to $950 to $850. Today: $750.

I'm new to Sony cameras. Is this most likely in anticipation of the new a6100? Will it go any lower? Time to pull the trigger?

Yes, If you follow Sonny rumours, I think the new A6100 will be coming next month. The fact that the A6000 is dropping in price, I would say confirms that.

I'm waiting for the new A6100 as well.

Mind you, the new A6100 will obviously, be more expensive.

I'm happy with my A6000 with kit zoom.

For $344 [open box special] how can I

even think of complaining. It's not that

I chose the A6000 and hunted the best

price. My method is that the best gear

for the price is whatever gear is sold at

the best price. So, my A6000 actually

chose me !

--------------------------------------------------

Theoretically, I could read reviews and

determine which gear is best, but then

I hafta shop price on a particular model

which is more work, and in the end no

one cares which model was deployed

to get the shots.

Acoarst this is not how one assures to

acquire the ultimate gear but I reeeally

hate shopping, so I end up with second

rate gear and my neighbors wanna run

me outa the neighborhood.

Today: $750.

That's the price I paid last December, a pretty good pre-Christmas sale.  No regrets at all; my a6000 suits me well.

If the a6100 rumor mill is at all in the ballpark, I'd personally opt for the great price on the a6000, then wait to see what the a7000 has, if it ever shows up.

It's probably gonna get lower next month or when the a6100 is released. But by then you might want to buy the new one , if ever there's a significant improvement "image quality wise" or a new sensor. So my suggestion wait for a few more weeks or by next month when you know the specs before you buy the a6000.

Haha^ have faith son^^^!

I had a nex 6 and that was a bit of alright for the dollars, i hear the a6000 is quite a bit better.

Get yourself an adapter and some cheap manual primes too if it behooves you. The minoltas and nikkors are good to great.

I have acquired some from second hand shops dirt cheap.

Good luck and good photography.

Golem: First shot on the new a6000. Charged the battery, switched to ON and clicked. All settings automatic. Now to understand all that it can do. Looks like the little a6000 and I are going to have fun.
