Absolutely. I use lightroom cc and camera raw 9.8, works great.  Whayt's your problem? Importing and developing images from your camera  or importing from lrtimelapse?  For timelapses I use the app from Sony and let the developing do by the app. The resulting video can be imported in lightroom, but lightroom cannot develop video. You can cut of the beginning or the end of the video, but that's it.

once I import my images into lightroom they look fine in the library module, but when i go to develop them, the image in the develop box it looks like only some pixels are showing.  Am I supposed to do something with camera raw before I import into lightroom from my a7ii?

Thanks in advance.

No need to do anything when importing from the camera to lightroom. On older versions of lightroom support for the A7II may not be there. Make sure you have the latest version of lightroom. Your best bet is to take a subscription with Adobe to have Lightroom and Photoshop. You are then always up to date. What happens when you take jpeg pictures and try to import and develop those?

thanks for the tip on checking jpeg's because they were messed up looking too.  A 4 year old video driver was to blame.  I use a lenovo thinkpad and I force installed the new intel video driver and it's all working now.  Thanks Lescatalpas for responding.
