Customizing an AF Lock Button on A7? (possible?)

Hi guys, I've shot for years without ever using an AF lock button, but for awhile now I've been shooting with the Sony GM lens and they all have AF lock buttons on it. I've been using it and now....I can't live without it.

Every lens I'm looking for now, I want an AF lock button it, but since that can't all happen, is there a way to customize your button to make an AF Lock button on the A7?

How do you use the AF lock button - what is it for? (sorry if that's an ignorant question - I have an A7r 2 that I use mainly for video, with mf lenses but I am considering getting a master 24-70.

It freezes AF action at the last focus

but is not toggled, just a momentary

hold switch.   

  

For video you might be happier with 

"Back Button AF", which only brings 

a new focus on command, by a push 

of the Back Button. 

   

You can select your button of choice 

in the "Custom Keys" menu.
