Fisheye lens

Recommended Posts

Hey, I'm new to the forum and was hoping for some advice re fisheye lenses for my Sony Alpha 200. So far I can only see Sony's prime lens which retails for just under £900 and I was hoping for something slightly cheaper. I had seen they do converters which would have been great if they were not just for E-mount :( please help!!

Adapters are for shallow depth cameras, IOW

not for SLRs or SLR-derived cameras cuz they

are too deep. While there exists an exception

or two, where one deep camera is a coupla mm

less deep than another, the A-mount is NOT an

exception :-(

Have you checked out any non-OEM fisheyes ?

Acoarst, some only come in EF and N-F mount,

but there might be something out there. At least

it's worth researching.

Have a look at the

Rokinon 8mm F3.5 Aspherical Fisheye (HD)

I have used it on my A77 with good results. It gives you 180 degrees of FOV diagonally with no vignette. It is a fully manual lens and I usually set it to f8 and 3metres. That way it works as a simple point and shoot. I think it might be your cheapest option short of going second hand.

Regards,

David
