Please help hoping to decide on new camera by tomorrow!

Recommended Posts

Good evening from Bristol in the UK,

I currently have an a350 along with a Tamron 16-300mm lense which has been great for Macro, landscape, and portrait shots.

I am an amature photographer, as I have been made redundant, I am looking to upgrade my camera and spend more time on Photography.

There is so.much choice out there my head is spinning! After plenty of reading, and talking to people my decision is (I think!) Between the Sony a7ii or Sony a7rii along with the 24-240 sony lense?....which (again, I think! Is the nearest equivalent replacement to my current Tamron)..

Thinking the A7ii as although there is technically more aspects to the R, there price difference is quite big and I can save quite a bit? Around £600...

Or another alternative is to stick with a mount to retain my current lenses and get a cheaper Sony such as A77ii........

Any experience, or view that may help me decide appreciated! I have an offer of £300 discount at a local shop that ends tomorrow!!

Thanks in advance,

Leah

it depends, here my thought´s:

1. you have to decide...... APS-C or FF ?

2. robust body or compact ?

3. witch family of lenses you like?  (the lenses are much more important than the body IMOH)

4. how much money i like to spend ?

some infos from my experience:

FF against APS-C....if you need good AF and a robust body with good batterie performance i would go for the A77II than you have awesome IQ with a great body and compact lenses

If you want ultimate IQ and fast AF performance is not so important A7 II would be great,

if you want ultimate ISO performance A7S would be great,

if you want a robust body and ultimate IQ and high ISO is important for you  i would go for the A99II

IMOH the A7 body´s are a little bit flimsy and with big lenses the A99 / A77 feels much better in the hand and as said batterie life is also much better, my A7 body looses the rubber grip after 1 year not so my A77

APS-C are more compact ...body and lenses, IQ is very good but not ultimate, but the smaller lenses are very intriguing IMOH

if you don´t mind weak robustness, weak batterie performance, you want ultimate IQ and have no money problems you could think about A7RII and a hole new set of g-master lenses but it is not compact anymore

and........every camera mentioned here is awesome and you will have a great tool to go in high quality photography
