Need Help with Fotodiox ASAP!

Hello,

 

I just recently purchased a Fotodiox Canon Ef to Nex mount adapter, I have a shoot tomorrow morning, so I'm hoping to get some help tonight. Every canon lens I own works on that adapter no problem, however, only one lens, the lens I would really like to use does not seem to fit into the adapter properly. My canon ef-s 10-22mm does not seem to turn into the adapter. There is no visible obstruction, the adapter came straight out of the package. I line up the white does and rotate moves slightly but locks up and wont slide into the place properly. 

 

Any help or guide to resources that can help would be greatly appreciated!

Do not attempt using the 10-22 tomorrow morning.

Leave it home. Doesn't matter how badly you think

you need it.

Maybe it's not "think you need it". Maybe it's really

essential. We've all had to struggle thru gigs where

something essential went belly up. It's bad enuf to

encounter that unexpectedly, suddenly, in front of a

client, but we get thru. You have an advantage over

that situation. You will not suffer the unexpected in

the presence of a client. You may indeed struggle

the same, but at least you will conceal it better cuz

you weren't taken by surprise. You have hours to

figger out a workaround. With a surprise failure you

have only minutes. Aren't you blessed ?

 

Leave the [possibly essential] 10-22 at home.

I'm gonna guess that all those other lenses

are in EF mount, and that Fotodiox failed to

consider the EF-S mount. Maybe I'm off the

mark, but you'd best figger that out AFTER  

tomorrow's successful and uneventful shoot.

Hopefully, "recently" means you are still

within the window for a merchandise return

so you can get a better adapter.

How did the next morning go ?

  

I also had a shoot yesterday involving an adapter but .... 

  

1. It's not an "economy model", and ....

2. It's already been in use now for several weeks, so no sooprises, and ....

3. I brought a minimal but capable back-up outfit not involving any adapter.  

  

Pleeeeease never put yourself in a position that could result in a panicky

post such as your OP in this thread. Look both ways before you cross the

street [etc etc].
