Dear all,

I have been using the a6000 for about 6 months and I need help.  Maybe I am missing some setting, but the steadyshot option is grayed out in aperture and shutter modes, and in macro under scene option.  What am I missing? Using the E 3.5/30 lens.

Dear all,

Hi 3catinn,

I assume you're talking about using the Sony E-mount 30mm f/3.5 Macro Lens with the a6000?

As far as I'm aware, the 30mm f/3.5 Lens does not have Sony's OSS (Optical Steady Shot). And of course the a6000 doesn't have in-body image stabilisation, so with the combination of that lens and body, no image stabilisation is available.

That would likely explain why it's greyed-out in the camera's menu system.

Nice tidy solution.

Not a very tidy query. It "OBVIOUSLY" states .... between

the lines .... that Steady Shot was available in some modes

but not in others. Kinda misleading if someone switches on

their a6000 to check out the problem.

After the fact, this is clearly not the case ... but point is, it

would be helpful to have decent queries. Too many don't

quickly yield to the rapid of insight of someone like Ghost

Walker, as in this case.

Nice work GW. And you even found the query hidden in a

really unlikely subforum where it sat unnoticed for a month.
