delewin
I am curious what this community thinks. I would like this to be a "poll" so we can all easily vote. The questions is simple. In terms of new camera bodies, which camera body will be released first? The A99ii OR the A9 (or equivalent in the FE mount)? I really do not know.. So I am interested in the community's opinion. Advertisement Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Hi delewin, Take a look here Question: What will be released first? The A99ii or the A9?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Golem
The only people who ever even mention [online] the "a99-II" are the same people who want/need/might-buy one. Do note that such mentions are few and far between. The "a99-II" is probably delayed by major committee decision making about whether or not it needs a socket for a buggy whip. delewin
Golem, my friend, you just may have hit the nail exactly on the head. My existing equipment still works, Why pine to spend more money on equipment that although I would like, If the truth be known, I don't absolutely need. I have other priorities that this money can be spent. My gain, Sony's loss.

Golem
Bored of waiting - Pentax K1 here I come... If Pentax ever offers anything very similar as a live view version, I'm all over it. At present I'm badly teased by the K-1. But teased is as far as it goes. I'm waaaay done with SLRs.
molan
Yes Pentax K-1 seems like the best FF dSLR right now, the only preblem I have with it is it's a dSLR (mirror and no EVF).

Golem
Live View ?! Never use it, always switched off on all my cameras. Not worried about mirror, EVF is hard to live without though. I guess different people have different meanings for the term "Live View". You switch off "Live View" cuz you never use it. But you say EVF would be hard to live without. When I say "Live View" I mean I'm seeing a readout from the sensor in real time. To me, both the EVF and the rear LCD monitor are "Live View". The only distinction is in using the eyepiece to see the miniature LCD/OLED monitor in the EVF. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- In NOT assuming your remarks contradict each other, I have to guess that when you say "Live View" [which you switch off] that you refer ONLY to the rear LCD ? In my head, a Sony is a "Live View Camera". Switch off the "Live View" and one cannot use the camera. So, I just hadda check with you about what somehow looks puzzling to me !
