Strange recording settings behavior

Up to now, I had things set so that still images recorded to card slot 1 and movies to card slot 2. I have now reset the settings so that still images should record to both slots, but movies only to slot 2. Still images are indeed recording to both slots, but movies still record to slot 2 as before, although they are now clearly set to record to slot 1. Why is the camera disregarding my instructions for movies?

You said “but movies only to slot 2” - surely it’s obeying your instructions?

My mistake. I set it to record movies only to slot 1, but they are still recording to slot 2.
