Identifying A9 firmware version

I recently acquired a used A9. It says that version is 6.00.

Was there another update after the firmware 5.0 update? My A6500 properly lists the version as 1.06, which is indeed the latest available.

You can find out the latest firmware version by visiting the support section of your local Sony site.

I went to my local Sony site, and version 6.0 is indeed the latest for the A9. So your new-to-you A9 is on the latest.

Why did you think it was 5.0?

As FWC stated the 6.0 is currently the latest firmware for the A9.  A quick search shows it was released 09/24/2019.
