Thought I had auto-magnify focus assist with metabones IV

Yesterday I was putting my A7r2 together with my Metabones IV adaptor and a Canon 24-105mm. I had updated the firmware on both to the latest official releases the week before. (body version 1.1 and adaptor version 44)  When I turned the lens to manual focus... by some miracle, it auto-magnified to help me focus, just as it is supposed to do with Sony lenses (I assume, because I don't have those lenses).

Anyway, it must have been a glitch, because after playing around with this new feature, and loving it... I decided to switch lenses... and it went away completely!

I have not seen this come back, but I suspect it was some combination of turning on the camera and putting the lenses/adaptor on that fooled the electronics into thinking it was a Sony lens.

The point is, that it is possible to do this, just a software update... the Canon lens will pass the manual focus information through the adaptor to the body to let it know when I'm focusing. I wish it was enabled on non-Sony lenses, it's a great feature that helps you get perfectly manual-focused shots quickly.

There are 3 necessary preconditions for auto magnify to work: 1, the camera's setting is turned on, 2, the adapter is put in Advanced mode (http://www.metabones.com/article/of/green-power-save-mode) and 3, the lens supports distance information.

Wow... I did not know this! Thank you so much for opening up this part of the system to me!!! (when I got my Metabone IV, there was no documentation in the box (brand new too!) It looked simple, so I assumed it had no hidden functions!
