Sony 24-70 GSM II lens focus ring inquiry

Hey so I recently received this lens. The focus ring feels slightly loose in the sense that I can move it up and down slightly. My other lenses I can't move the focusing rings at all up and down. Is this by design or would mine be a faulty build?

I can also feel some very little movement up and down on the focusing ring of my Sony GM 24-70/2.8 MK2,when I force it.I remember it was even more pronounced with my Sony GM 24-70/2.8 MK1.

BTW: I got 10 Sony GM primes and zooms plus 7 G zooms and one prime.The vast majority of them present the same behaviour ,yet to different extent,so I presume it's normal.

BTW2: All my GM and G Sony lenses were bought by myself brand new and I use them rather seldom.
