sonyplayer
Hi I have a few questions regarding this lens for panoramic photography. Hope some experts can enlighten me 1) May I know where's the nodal point of this lens? Is it somewhere near the front (according to my experiments)? 2) Has anyone used it with the Nodal Ninja 3? How does it work out? 3) Which program do you guys usually use to stitch panoramas? Thanks!
Advertisement Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Hi sonyplayer, Take a look here Sony 16-35mm f4 nodal point/panorama. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Golem
Regardless of physical structure of the lens, the rear nodal point, which is your pivot for pano, is Xmm in front of the sensor when the focal length is Xmm. Sensor location is the circle-with-bisecting-line symbol on the body. Your experimental results prolly means you found the plane of the lens's entrance pupil, which is also a workable pivot point. At large distances none of this matters much. At near distances you should use a focus rail and you can find the parallax-free pivot point quickly by practical experiment ..... possibly what you have already been doing ? `
bashbrook
I use the NN5, would love something lighter. I am a big fan of Autopano Pro and Giga. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
