SD Card won't stay in slot : Sony A7IV

Just today on re-inserting the SD card I have found that it won't stay inserted. The card will push in but won't click to stay in place. I have tried other cards and they still have the same issue. Slot 2 is OK. The body is an A7IV which I have had since December last year with no issues until today. Any suggestions or is it a back for repair? Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like mechanical issue 100%. The plastic holder inside probably broken, doubt it may be fixed without replacement.

Maybe, first to contact Sony support directly, then go further to Sony service for replacement of that part.

Happened to me but on a Blackmagic Video Assist.

Something's in the card cavity keeping the card from inserting all the way for the 'keeper' device to trigger that locks the card in place. For me it was part of the plastic fingers separating the brass contacts had broken off. Really tiny but that's all it took to keep the card from seating. Shake it out. Blow it out. Peer inside to see what's jammed in there. I'm betting that's what the problem is.

I did get in touch with the dealer I bought it from and it is on the way to them as they requested and they will deal with Sony for me.

Hopefully I will have it back shortly!

I have the same problem, but on a completely different camera.  Sounds like a common problem!!!
