a7 R2 image and lens communication issues - both intermittent

I sent my a7rii in for warranty repair for these two issues.

1. After the shutter release the image produced is 100% wavy electronic noise (example attached). Intermittent and almost exclusively when the camera is vertical.
2. Lenses (through a Metabones adapter) lose communication("F--"). Also intermittent. All contacts have been thoroughly cleaned.

The same setup work flawlessly on my a7r.

The repair shop "fixed" something and returned it without addressing these issues. The shop has it again and can't find the problems.

Has anyone experienced something like this?
