Sony HVL-F60RM Flash

My HVL-F60RM Flash is constantly misfiring....  Meaning that even when it's off the camera's hot shoe, it fires just by touching it.  Any ideas?

Check your flash contacts at the front of the hot shoe. If one or some of them are torn, they may cause a short and anything can happen.

These come with a protection cover for the flash foot and if lost or unused, these contacts can get torn by getting hooked on a foreign material.
