"Memory card" formatting

I know that when you get a new "Memory card" that it should be formatted in the camera -- NOT in a computer.

My question is "If you format a card in ANY Sony camera can you use it in any OTHER Sony model without any problems?"

How about formatting a card in a Konica Minolta camera?

I've just tried a card formatted in my A7Rii, in my A6500, and vice-versa and they both work fine.

My old A100 used compact flash cards so I don't know if Konica Minolta cameras are able to physically take "modern" cards.

My Konica Minolta A2 takes 16GB Compact Flash cards, and I have not had any problems swapping Compact flash cards between various cameras, but with all the various problems some people have been having between "devices", it made me think?!?!??!?
