Yes it does.  Updating to the latest firmware helps but doesn't eliminate the problem.  For normal shooting condition in good light, the AF works mostly fine with an occasional hiccup but if you try to use the macro capability on AF it's mostly hit or miss.  It's better to use DMF setting and focus manually.  I've always used MF for macro work even with an AF macro lens (Pentax).
