Diagonal Lines

Recommended Posts

I am getting diagonal lines on a substantial number of images shot with the A9 (1st ver) and the Sony 100-400 f4.5/5.6 at maximum frame rate (see example below).  Someone told me these are aliasing artifacts caused by the lack of an anti-alias filter but that this should be rare (which it isn't with me).  Any thoughts or suggestions?

Off topic but if your A9 shoots at 10 fps with the mechanical shutter, it's a version II. Version I only does 5 fps with the mechanical shutter.

On topic: I've seen a question like this before but can't recall exactly where... If I remember correctly it had something to do with a UV-filter on the lens. If you have that, try removing it.
