This was it! I never even noticed that dial there before. I ended up realizing it had something to do with the viewfinder after I took the pictures off of my camera and realized that they were in fact in focus. Too bad I didn't know about that function when I still wore glasses.

You must have accidentally moved the dioptric adjustment wheel located on the right side of the viewfinder. Look at the blurry text in your viewfinder while turning the wheel back and forth. If the blurriness gets worse, turn it the other way until you can see all the information in the viewfinder clearly once again. This doesn't happen often but if you are squeezing the camera into a small bag or taking it out, you can end up touching the wheel unknowingly.
