Sony A7riii manual focus not working

I recently upgraded my Sony A7 to the Sony A7riii and cannot get manual focus to work.

When I manually focus close in, as soon as I hit the shutter release button, it reverts to auto focus.

I thought it may be my Sony 90mm lens, which has AF/MF on the lens.

However, I tried it on my Sony 50mm lens which does not have an option on the lens.

It does not work on either lens.

As I am trying to take some macro shots, it is quite frustrating.

Can anyone help please ?
