Image Stabilisation Error - Intermittent

Recommended Posts

I wonder if anyone else has seen this error and if there's any fixes apart from a repair.

I took my camera our on Friday for the first time in ages and all day it had the orange waving hand with error below it. A search of the internet says this is an image stabilisation error.

Today the camera is operating with no errors.

The picture from Friday seem sharp enough even with the error.

I did a full reset on Friday but that did not fix it. Are there any other DIY things to try?

I'm assuming that the fault is intermittent and will likely need a repair, but wondered what impact the error has on image quality or if this is only an issue when image stabilisation is needed?

If its a repair that is needed, can anyone recommend a UK based repair shop (I'm in Scotland).

Thanks,

Jim

I'm intrigued. As the pictures seemed ok I wonder if it's one of those pesky problems where the warning light is at fault rather than the thing it is reporting (in your case the image stabilisation).

I then wondered if you were using it on a tripod ?- in which case they recommend turning stabilisation off - as it overcompensates.

I hope there's a simple solution.

Good luck
