Sony A7Siii Sensor Broken - Pink Spot

Hi! Im a filmmaker based in Wales UK, I bought a very early model Sony A7Siii back in autumn 2020 as soon as they were released, its been a great camera but all of a sudden the sensor has developed a pink spot! Is very large and visible in every image... has anyone else had any issues like this with any other modern alpha camera? I have tried all reset options and its still present, I didn't drop the camera or get it wet... it seems to have happened completely out of the blue. 

The only thing I've been doing differently recently is connecting the camera to the gimbal for power, but surely this can't wreck a sensor!

Sensor defects like this can occur when exposing the camera to extreme light sources like laser or direct sunlight using a large aperture lens, though lasers tend to cause a bit more scattered pattern of defective pixels. Did you by any chance film a setting sun? If not by your own doing, this should be covered by manufacturers warranty.
