70-350 zoom issue

Yesterday, I started having trouble with my E 4.5-6.3/70-350 G OSS mounted on an a6400.  When shooting at 70 mm, the AF would not work.  If I zoomed in alittle, it suddenly worked all the way to 350.  Definitely not an issue until yesterday and not an issue of being too close.  It seemed if I released and slightly rotated the lens like I was to taking it off (with the camera off), then clicked it back into position (then turning the camera back on), I could focus at 70 mm.  If it remained off for an extended period of time, I would have to do this maneuver again.  Any clues as to what is going on?  Or maybe it is the camera?   Thanks.

A few days ago I started having the same issue. Sony 70-350 on Alpha 6400, both bought on December 2022.

From length 140 the focus stop working, both auto and manual, both using the switch on the lens of the menu on the camera. Sometimes it works. From 140 to 350 non problem. Any of you solved or has any advice?
