USB Connecting Confusion

Hello, 

Wondering if someone can shed some light on this as it has me completely confused. 

I have an A6000 and when I plug in the power cable I get USB Connecting Screen. 

The camera is mainly used for video so need the power constantly connected... I have tried just connecting the power cable with no other cables and it gives me the USB Connecting Screen. 

The USB modes (Mass Storage / PC Remote etc) don't do anything different. I tried the cables from my A6400 (it was worth a shot lol) 

Plugging the cables in doesn't activate the USB Mode connecting screen It only occurs when I turn the mains power on. 

I am totally confused lol.

Any help would be most sincerely appreciated

Is there a battery installed in the grip, I think it needs to be there even if operating from USB power.

The camera must be turned OFF when connecting to the remote power supply, then turn the camera on. It should then stop charging the battery and use the power supply instead.
