This was actually more of an experiment. It is very rare to see clear skies in my area. I grabbed the closest camera and shot these photos handheld. I didn't have time to setup a tripod, etc. I found it interesting to see the same moon in daytime and nighttime.

Daytime Moon: Sony A6500, 70-350 mm lens at 350 mm, f/8, 1/2000 sec, ISO 800, handheld, file size reduced for web.

Nighttime Moon: Sony A6500, 70-350 mm lens at 350 mm, f/8, 1/1600 sec, ISO 6400, handheld, file size reduced for web.

Amazed to see the nighttime moon. Thanks for sharing the camera settings for this shot. Could you please tell me why you use 2 separate ISO speeds for the daytime and nighttime moon shot? Why does ISO speed vary from picture to picture?

I used manual setting for aperture and shutter speed. And, auto ISO.

Nearly full moon is about to set upon the Indian Ocean and I am fighting the urge to go out and take its picture...It is 5:37 a.m.

Go on...you know you should! Then you can catch the dawn and the morning golden hour as well.

its very nice shot. In my country we can see the moon very often, and looks bigger as well but I don't know why exactly looks bigger in some areas and some no.

Since the moon is always fully lit by the sun, all you need is the f-16 rule to correctly expose for it.

Nice picture. Thanks for sharing
