Sony a9 firmware update and Catalina

Did a forum search and nothing came up, so apologies if this problem has been beaten to death already. I am trying to update to firmware 6.0 on the a9. I use Mac OS Catalina. Has anyone had recent experience trying to do this? I've jumped through some hoops to gry and get it to work, including following instructions and driveloader 1015 but nothing seems to be working as I'dd expect. My other a9 I updated before upgrading to Catalina.  Any thoughts or advice out there?
