autofocus issue

i have a sony a6300 and canon 50mm with viltrox adapter.

when i turn on the camera it does not focus automatically .

It will only autofocus when i half oress the shutter. it does not track object without pressing that shutter button

in video i need to continously half oress the shutter buttor for the af-c to work.

how can i change it or solve it..?

is this an issue with the camera or the canon lens and viltrox adapter
