Sony A7R II Recording Button not working

Hi. I own Sony A7RII. Recently I discovered that record button is not working. The button is fine, nothing stuck over there. I reset the camera setting and pull out the lens.

Still the rec button is not functional? 
 

Am I missing anything?

Check in your camera menu settings to make sure it is not disabled. Go to menu  gear icon  8 Movie button. And check your settings. Change it to always. It will then allow you to record in whatever mode you are in. Hope this helps.

My Sony A7R ii just had an issue of video not recording and the recording button is still, I have followed the instructions of changing the MOVIE Button in the Menu setup to Always, from Movie Mode Only, it still doesn't work. I need some help. Thanks.

I had the same issue, I couldn't resolve it but I found a work around that's even better. You can set up custom buttons in the settings. I changed C1 into MOVIE. So when you press the C1 button it starts image capture. I like it better as it easier than the fiddly small actual record butto.
