Issue Sony A7III connecting to Laptop

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon to all of you.

Hopefully you guys might be smarter than me and help me on that issue.

I want to connect my Sony A7III to my laptop through  USB. To use with Dragonframe and to also record as webcam during the lock down.

The same camera with the same laptop was used for that purpose 6 months ago before a full reboot.

- Drivers are up to date

- PC remote setting is check

- When I try I dont have google drive, lightroom or else running

When I connect my A7 I have "connexion USB", the camera shows up on Sony Remote, but I do not have any image. Same goes with dragonframe.

Any brillant ideas on what the issue might be ?

My best

Loic

Yes, I believe Google interferes with connectivity but outside of that I've only had reliable connections when I use the USB cable that came with the camera. Tagged it so it doesn't get mixed up with all the other cables.

I know, that  USB cables, come in different  thicknesses !

You cannot, update your Sony camera, with a standard    Thin ... mobile  phone charger  USB  cable !

You have to go, to your Sony Shop, and buy the thick ,  Sony   USB cord !

I know, every country, is different !

Some countries , include the correct,      Sony USB cable, in the camera box !

Other countries, expect you to buy , the correct USB cable seperately !

Hopefully , that, will solve your problem !

Good Luck
