Super 35mm Mode

Hey guys, just signed up on this. I'm currently using the Sony A7III and was wondering if super 35 was bad. My friend told me not to use it because it decreases the amount of Megapixel in the image. I'm a photographer/videographer, but mostly do photography. Is super 35 good for stills/pictures? Thank you!

Your friend is right. If you wanna crop, better do it in post processing so you have more freedom in framing your composition.

For videography the megapixel loss is less important as your output video has less than 24 megapixels anyway.
