Need Lens Suggestions

Need suggestions for a macro lens for an A7 III.  Sony or off brand - doesn't matter.

I feel like the Sony 90mm f2.8 MACRO would be perfect for you. On my list of lenses to get in the future

I use the Sony 90mm f2.8 Macro with my a7rIII and find it well suited for macro work. It works fine in general photo work (portraiture) but note that the autofocus is slow and noisy when compared to my other Sony lenses. Otherwise it is very sharp and offers 3 settings for different focusing distances as well as a simple if unconventional sliding barrel auto/manual focus switch. It is largely made of a slick plastic and can be slippery in the hand but its the optics that count after all!

I use The Sony 90mm f2.8 for macro. It's an excellent lens! But there is another option; The Sony 100-400. Due to it's short minimum focus distance it almost reaches the 1:1 ratio. With a macro ring between the camera and the lens is a sublime combination for macro!

Are you expecting hand held photograpy, or mainly tripod ?

They are both great lenses, however the 90 mm macro only weighs : 602 Gr

Whereas the 100 - 400 weighs  1.3 kilos !

I once rented the  70 - 200 F 2.8, and as great as the lens was, at 840 Gr, it was too heavy for me, to considder buying.

Sony FE 90 2,8 G is a great choice.

You need to provide much more details on your intended use before anyone can provide useful suggestions.
