Hi Friends,

I've made the switch from Canon to the AR7IV. I'm using a Sandisk 64gb Extreme Pro UHS-II SDXC card in Slot 1.  After deleting all the files, I noticed that only 55gb are available. The subfolder DCIM shows Zero bytes. The subfolder Private shows 524 KB used.  Where are the other 9GB?  Could Sony use that much space to format the card?

Screen grabs are attached.  Any guidance is appreciated.

Al

Hello AlB,

Take a look here: Vanishing 9GB .

Okay, never mind.  I deleted the files from my card, but hadn't emptied the trash on my computer. That did the trick.  I'm used to deleting all my images in bulk on my Canon. But, I can't find that option in my Sony.

Bulk deletion is an implicit part of re-formatting the card in-body.

On a Sony a7r4 you'll find this in the menu.
