Shutter speed in Auto iso in A priority

Recommended Posts

I shoot sport and in A mode the minimum shutter speed in auto iso that I can set is 1/1000s to freeze movement but this is not enough as some blur to the soccer boot or ball still occurs. The next choice is 1/2000s. Why is there no 1/1250s or 1/1600s? I work under poor floodlights and the 1/1250s would be of benefit to freeze completely the motion but keep the iso down to a lower figure than the 1/2000s does. The only way to solve this is go M mode but a firmware update to give a wider choice of minImum shutter speed would be a great advantage to use A mode. If anyone knows Mr SonyA9, could they ask what the logic in the 1/1000s to 1/2000s is with nothing in between?
