Sony Alpha ILCE-3500J will not turn ON.

My Sony Alpha ILCE-3500J camera recently started not turning ON intermittently but now it just won't turn ON at all.

I believe that the battery is fully charged because when I plug in the USB charging cable the orange LED comes on for about 5 seconds or so then turns off.

I have tried Sony's suggested test of turning the camera OFF, removing the battery, turn it back ON again and hold down the shutter button for at least 30 secounds. Then I turn it OFF, reinstall the battery and try turning it ON again. No response from the camera.

I have ordered another battery but I have a feeling that the problem is not the battery itself.
Does this sound like a common or familiar problem with this camera?

Sounds like the battery is not holding a charge. A new battery should resolve this issue.
