I never feed them. There is plenty of food in the pond.

There are signs posted to not feed them. They run away to their nest when they see someone else coming by. Here's the nest.

Nice pictures, but I'd interpret that as aggression and seriously consider being somewhere else fairly quickly!

I agree. The male gets defensive if he thinks his family is in danger.
