A7Riii Firmware update Mac OS Compatibility Question

On the Sony firmware update site, it says that the firmware update for the A7Riii is only compatible with Mac OS 10.12-10.14.   I am still using OS 10.11.  (An old computer.)  Does anyone know if the update will work with OS 10.11.6?

If you don't want to upgrade you MacOS, you have several options:

• maybe you have access to somebody's Windows computer, maybe friends, or at work?
• you may have a bootcamp partition on your Apple computer, to boot into a native Windows on your Mac
• you may have a virtualisation environment for MacOS, like VMware Fusion, where you could install a Windows OS

Thanks for the ideas.   I guess I was kind of hoping that someone might have tried and found that the update did work with OS 10.11.6.   I will find a friend's computer to do it.
