Hey guys, I've had the Sony A7III Vertical grip for a couple years now and I've had some issues for probably the last 18 months. Sometimes it doesn't switch on very fast or at all when the vertical grip is on the camera. I always check to make sure that the grip is on properly and every time it's on just fine. I have more examples of it not working so please just assume I've attached it properly because I can assure you that I have. Sometimes the buttons on the grip stop working altogether (af-on, ael, custom buttons, shutter button) and other times they work fine but the dials don't work and the shutter button will only focus and not fire. I thought this was something to do with the batteries i was using but I've since replaced them with genuine sony batteries and I still get the same issues. I had a shoot last weekend where these issues were extremely prominent and kept happening to the point that I took it off and shot with the camera just as is. After doing that, all these issues went away and now I'm concerned that I've got a £300 piece of equipment that needs replaced or repaired. Has anyone had these issues with their A7III and battery grip before? If so, how did you fix them? Like I said, this is all genuine Sony gear I'm talking about, right down to the batteries and the lens I was using in the example I gave. Apologies if this is the wrong part of the site to post this but I need help ASAP.
